Eleanor was born December 27, 1920 in Decatur County, Kansas, the daughter of William A. and Nina E. Decker Uehlin. She moved with her family from Kansas to Fruitland, Idaho in April 1935. After her schooling, she moved to Seattle where she married Melvin S. Gibbons and her 2 children were born. She returned to Idaho in 1951 to be near her parents and family.

Later she married Orrin A. Tuttle and they owned the OK Rubber Welders (later called Tuttle Tire Shop) in New Plymouth, Idaho. Eleanor worked at various occupations including accounting, bookkeeping, and bookbinding.

On June 7, 1969 she was married to Bernard M. "Bud" Lytle in Winnemucca, Nevada. She retired from bookbinding in 1978. The couple enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Old Mexico, and the Hawaiian Islands. For one memorable trip, they joined three of her sisters and their spouses traveling by motorhome across the U.S. A highlight trip they took when they were well past middle age was with Eleanor's daughter and her husband as they toured in the Northwest on their motorcycles.

In 1988 the Lytles went into partnership with her brother in an RV and Mobile Home Park in Burns, Oregon. After selling this in 1993, they moved to Milton-Freewater where they built a duplex and have there since.

Eleanor was a faithful Bible student. She enjoyed being a greeter in her church as well as volunteering at the 3ABN-TV downlink. She is remembered for the enjoyment she found in sharing from their wonderful garden and the beautiful flowers they grew. She loved children and knew just what to do to make them smile. In later years, she received great pleasure in caring for Casper and Pumpkin, her two precious cats.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Lytle, on September 2, 2007. She was from a family of nine children, five of which preceded her in death, Loid, Dallas, Gerald and Dale Uehlin, and Berdine Fincher. Her son, Duane Gibbons, and her grandson, Troy Robert Crawford, also preceded her in death.

Remaining to mourn her passing are three sibling: Goldie Anderson, Gail Uehlin and Arlene McKee; her daughter, Juanita F. (Gibbons) Crawford; three grandsons, Chad E. Crawford, Cory Gibbons and Tim Gibbons; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Eleanor also had seven stepchildren.
