Obituary of Goldie Vennis Anderson

On January 21, 2016, Goldie Vennis Uehlin Anderson, 105, slipped away peacefully at her home. She was born October 13, 1910 in Decatur County, Kansas to Will and Nina Decker Uehlin, the oldest girl in the family of 9 children, Loyd, Dallas, Dale, Gerald, Gail, Berdean, Eleanor, and Arleen.

Goldie married Edward H. Anderson in 1929 and they had two sons. They lived on a farm in Decatur County, Kansas until they retired in 1971 and relocated in Caldwell, Idaho. Edward passed away in 1992.

Goldie's strength of character, faith in God and gentle kindness became a steadfast support for friends, family and complete strangers; she treated all equally. She remained active and alert her entire life, brightening our days with her ready smile.

Remaining survivors are her son, Dole B. Anderson (JoAnn) of Perry, UT; daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Anderson of Topeka, KS; sister, Arleen McKee (Howard); and brother, Gail Uehlin (Helen); 18 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her son, Delmer Anderson and grandson, Dallas Anderson preceded her in death.

The world is blessed to have had Goldie's presence for 105 years; we are better people for knowing her.
